Advantages Of LCD TV Over Plasma TV

Nowadays Americans enjoy their televisions much more than in the past. Recent research has shown that 98% of American households own a television unit while viewing it at least 3 hours and 48 minutes per day. The television companies on the market have certainly noticed and have answered the demand of new levels of entertainment with the plasma and the LCD TVs. These products are changing the way Americans enjoy their TV programming, however which is the better value for them?

The LCD TV and Plasma TV’s represent the most modern innovations in television technology. They represent a decently affordable way to get a clearer, crisper picture. The main question is which is better, LCD TV or Plasma.

Liquid crystal display televisions or LCD TV are slimmer than and not as heavy as the traditional CRT TV’s of the past. Its color display and resolution are superior to most Plasma televisions available on the market. LCDs also have a wider variety of 1080 pixel sets and more screen sizes to choose from than Plasma sets available. Plasma TV’s are only available in sizes no smaller than 42 inches. LCDs provide a whole range of set sizes that can fit more places and are cheaper. Plasma Televisions are the newest development when it comes to TV technology, but to compete with this, LCD TV manufacturers have developed more advanced and better models of LCD TV. The latest models of LCD TV have a much better color display and are generally a bit brighter than what a plasma TV can offer. Because of its less reflective screen, it looks better in bright rooms.

Plasma TV has the tendency to not look as good in bright rooms. For gaming, however, the higher panel resolution gives more detail, enhancing the video gaming experience. LCD TV’s are not as apt to suffer from burn-in from images that are displayed for a long period, which has been a complaint from plasma TV users. LCD’s project a more stable image quality that avoids eye fatigue for those who watch a lot of TV. LCD Televisions also last a lot longer life span than Plasma TV’s by about 20,000 hours. Additionally, the LCD TV is significantly cheaper than Plasma TV, allowing you to get the biggest bang for your buck. It also runs more efficiently than a plasma TV so you not only save money when purchasing it, but on your electric bill as well.

When spending big money on a TV, it is good to remember that the newest innovation is not always the best. You want a product that will be worth your investment. LCD’s are high quality, more affordable and longer lasting than Plasma TV’s, making your money worth it.
